The Fenland Trust unveils heritage plaque at the birthplace of Yaxley mathematician | The Fenland Trust

“Mighty oaks from little acorns grow” - an apt phrase for the unveiling of Yaxley’s second heritage plaque at the birthplace of founder of the Royal Astronomical Society Olinthus Gregory and former Royal Oak public house in Yaxley.

In attendance were Professor Martin Barstow, President of the Royal Astronomical Society (direct from Washington), our patrons Shailesh Vara MP and Andrew Burgess ARAgS FRSA and property owner Graeme Middleton. Stewart Howe represented the Fenland Trust.
