The Fenland Trust is excited to announce that the second commemorative plaque forming part of the ambitious Yaxley Heritage Spine will be unveiled on Main Street this September 18th 2015.
The stone plaque will be embedded at the birthplace of Olinthus Gregory, a mathematician, author and editor whose fame during his lifetime spread across the entire globe.
The plaque will be unveiled by one of the nation’s leading scientists, Professor Martin Barstow, University of Leicester’s Pro-Vice Chancellor, Head of the College of Science & Engineering, Professor of Astrophysics and Space Science and the President of the Royal Astronomical Society.
A reception will be held at Norman Cross as part of the Fenland Trust’s upcoming three month exhibition. Items on display will include rare volumes, original letters and prints as well as hundred of other items from the Fenland Trust’s growing museum collection.
